I really dislike the ubuntu patches in lucid on the system tray, does anyone know if a ppa exists which has the upstream default or how I could unpatch the ubuntu package to upstream default?
KDE3 was the easiest most intuitive desktop ever made but with kde4 (.0 .1 .2 .3 and .4) I am still struggling to get things done. I basically gave up on KDE and switched to Gnome now
thanks maybe lter i'll try and have a go at building a deb
I know how to make rpm's, is there a quick guide somewhere to get me going, preferably one which starts or assume you know a little about rpm ?
I would use mandriva's grub, it looks prettier and when something messes up you can use the mandriva control center to fix things easily rather than hope grub2 will do it automatically for you (it...
I am not noticing it now but was noticing this last year on several ubuntu installs, very sluggish scrolling compared to mandriva, tried all sorts of settings, my guess is that it is a patch ubuntu...
but this is what's happening, anyway to correct this?
For some reason only 6,7 and 8 point fonts are smoothed. Anyway to turn this on for all fonts?

When I try "search->find all your threads", not all my threads are found, like this one: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6673825#post6673825

I always though it was a bug, not a feature, in mandriva that it would move the trash from the removable device to the trash in the home directory instead of the way ubuntu does it...
I have used a lot of desktops: Amiga1.3 and 3.9; Irix; OsX; GNOME2; WIndows 3.11,95,98,ME,XP and Vista; KDE3; XFCE4.4 and 4.2; E16&17; ICEWM and maybe a few others but KDE4 and windows3.11 were the...
The obvious answer would be: It makes the Creator(tm) mad and brings its wrath down upon us all, convert now or be doomed for all eternity!
The point is that in kde3 all this was configurable, the power to decide was mine, now the kde-devs took away that power and I have to live with their choices, like osx users, vista users and gnome...
But I don't want to lock them I want to move them around....
So basicly it's useless, for me it's useless and I want it gone, it annoys me taking up the space...
I know, now because of...
This could be a permissions problem, when you worked as root/sudo and then trashed some files, go to a console and do:
sudo rm -rf ~/.local/share/Trash/files/.*
sudo rm -rf...
