[other] Re: Media Nav: Open source possibilities?

So, bumping this as I'm still interested. There seems to be a proprietary jailbreak called "Menavrus" for the Media Nav, but it seemingly (their website is down) costs €40 and it seems a rather silly...

[ubuntu] Re: Nvidia GTX 770 visual artifact issue

I could open a thread on the Nvidia forums about it. Thanks for the suggestion.

That seems like a very awkward workaround, but then again, it could work really well to split the usecases up like...

[ubuntu] Re: Nvidia GTX 770 visual artifact issue

So, since this issue just remained and remained I opted to just drop the Nvidia drivers and switch back to Nouveau.

Too bad it just kills most of my games :(

    [SOLVED] One-click Java 8 install?

I'm in the midst of setting up a small business to support Ubuntu home desktop users and I've opted to use ScreenConnect for remote login. However, it uses Java to be crossplatform, which is not...

    Re: "Disks" application not opening

If you open Files, does the cd-rom appear in there?
If not, is the optical disc station seen with the terminal commans lshw (which lists all your hardware)?
If not, you may have a broken optical...

    Hi all,

On my Leopard Extreme 4th generation I own a GTX 770 with 4GB memory. When using the proprietary Nvidia drivers, I have reoccuring visual artifacts which predominantly occur in the Unity...

[other] Re: Media Nav: Open source possibilities?

Ok, seems like Jaguar/Landrover already got it right by default. Sadly, that's a little outside my budget ;)

[other] Media Nav: Open source possibilities?

So, first of all, this question will be somewhat out of the ordinary and may well be put in the wrong place. This subforum seems to be fitting enough.

So, I recent purchased a Dacia Logan MCV,...
  12. [SOLVED] Re: Issue with starting Unity: No panel or WM

The issue is resolved: I reinstalled the Nvidia drivers, apparently there was an issue there, somewhere.

Note for others, facing perhaps similar issues: I did install the proprietary Nvidia...
  13. [SOLVED] Re: Issue with starting Unity: No panel or WM

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Given that haven't used the sudo command, I presume you've intended me to run this as a user, resetting account-specific settings. As noted in the OP, the issue is...

    Hi all,

I'm running 14.04 and all of a sudden Unity is no longer starting after a reboot. That is, I don't see the panel appearing and the window manager doesn't start. What does start is the...

[ubuntu] Re: Leopard Extreme 4 underperforming?

Ok, in the latest Linux Action Show, the Leopard Extreme is tested with a GTX760 and somewhat lower settings and the score is very similar (1960 from the top of my head, which is to be expected).

[ubuntu] Re: Leopard Extreme 4 underperforming?

    Bump again.

Let me rephrase the question then: Could any of you run the Valley benchmark and see what you're getting? If we see the same type of results, I suppose this is normal then...

    [ubuntu] Leopard Extreme 4 underperforming?

I recently got my Leopard Extreme 4 and I'm quite happy with it :)
However, when I ran the Valley benchmark, it seems I'm underperforming a bit when I compare it to this thread for...

It would be useful if you could post a little more. There is very little information about installing linux on a modern Mac. I considered buying one, but for lack of information, I wouldn't do it....

    [kubuntu] Re: iPad support

That is a pity. And iCloud, despite its marketing as such, isn't really a reliable backup.

I think I'm going for the Asus then.
