    I got it to work great when installing it in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins

    Installing e.g. copying it.

    You need to edit your apt/sources.list and uncomment the additional sources.

    sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

    When that loads up uncomment the additional sources.

    I don't believe alsa will be backported due to libraries included and linked to other programs.

    This is generally the reason why things aren't backported.

    Backports for dapper have not opened...

    The reason why noone has replied is because if you installed from dapper you wouldn't have the backports version I wouldn't have thought but the ubuntu version.
