Yep, That's is one thing thats great about linux. half of the software is full on free :D.

Well I just killed my windows on my old Toshiba Laptop. And promptly installed Lubuntu 12.10 on it.
So far I'm liking how this Ubuntu spin off is. it works pretty fast on these specs.

Well it seems when I made that last post here, I messed something up on Ubuntu 12.04, and my computer acted like it was not connected at all. But after a complete re-install
and changing my location...
I use APTonCD (For making a backup all the program packages I've gotten) You can find it in the Ubuntu software center, And for documents and stuff I just copy them to a flash card.
I don't have for an answer for that I really, I'm still new to the whole Linux screen.

I don't know I've never had that problem... but then again. I never ran UE in live mode, I've only run the install. which I've never had any problem with.
So maybe try doing install instead of Live...
I hate that Ubuntu has "hardly no dial up support" >_<
