    I'd try rebooting first. The reinstall trick doesn't usually work as well on Ubuntu as it does on Windows. Updating with Update Manager is probably a good idea, too.

    A good way to test the basic functionality is to install cheese from the repos. If your camera is working properly, cheese will detect it and you should see yourself.

    dist-upgrade took care of it on my 64 bit desktop. The upgrade rebuilt my keys and then running ssh-vulnkey reported that both keys are not blacklisted. Now on to the rest of my systems....
