I downloaded weather, it says it is installed on the adesklets installer, I find many files related to it but not the one that starts it on my machine.

I have no idea how well it would work but notepad comes bundled with wine. I was going to see if it would let me open jpg's like it does in windows but no cigar. Of course someone with the skill...

I had managed to try to install UBU on a USB and instead installed it on the hdd.
Needless to say it was a fatal error. Thanks for the advice anyway, at least I learned how to use testdisk .

Thanks, I got testdisk installed and had to run before I finished but I think it will work.

the big draw for me with linux was virus resistance, this is probably a silly question but can windows get a virus when running in a virtual machine mode on linux?
