    Dellbuntu Insprion 1420n. Almost everything worked with the original version it shipped with (7.04 I believe) but now all hardware and features work 100%.

    If you go back to my original post, I said the installer could schedule a defrag of the ntfs partition, reboot, defrag, then when Windows starts again the installer can continue.

    My point was that it would create a normal dual-boot setup, avoiding initrd hacks and filesystem images on NTFS partitions.
