    Happened to me too, using 12.10. The file .xsession-errors.old now clocks in at 851.4 GB!

    My sister had an issue with her M570 mouse not picking up after a Precise Pangolin upgrade. First not recognized after a partial (failed) upgrade, then still not showing when upgrade successfully...

    In the Activities Menu, search for the "Main Menu" app, then uncheck or delete the categories you see selected under Debian. This removed every instance of the duplicate low-resolution icons for me.
