Still wondering if my samba is safe.

ok here is what i learned so far.
I installed 10.04 server, and it worked! from there, i did an upgrade. it looked like it was going to work, until the reboot. then it went black after bios again!!...

yeah i would have liked to just stick with 9.4 but i want the LTS, and i had some other problems with it.

I didn't realize the repositories get closed - I thought they would just not be updated... That could be a problem I guess, 12.04 wouldn't install on this computer.

OK so I found the jumper specs online for my drive. No jumpers means its master which is what I want.

So I can assume I connected it properly and the errors mean that the drive is faulty right??
