    [ubuntu] No window borders...

I have been having this problem lately and have had it off and on for as long as I have been using Ubuntu (I started with 6.06). I fix it by going into compiz and disabling/enabling compiz-decorator....

[xubuntu] Re: To low on memory to send crash report...

I just uninsalled chromium and went back to FireFox. My computer is much less bogged down all the time (I always have a browser open). I like Chrome/Chromium, but I like FF also and this is the...

    [ubuntu] Re: Updates failing

Thank you, I will. Although just like one of the posters in that link, I wonder why it all the sudden stopped working. I too have a clean install of 12.04. Why were they added in the first place and...

[SOLVED] Video drivers for Win7 guest in Virtualbox

I just installed Win 7 in Virtual box inside Ubuntu 12.04. It is actually working very good. I did notice that Win 7 see the video card as "standard VGA adapter", I have a Nvidia GTX 260. Is that as...

    [ubuntu] I miss Desktop cube...

Can you do it in current Unity?
  13. [ubuntu] Re: The weirdest problem I have ever seen - graphics issue...

Well as weird as it was, I did get it to go away. It had been there for 3 days, but I hadn't had time to deal with it much. The image was the starting image of the "Google goggles" video on this...
  14. [ubuntu] The weirdest problem I have ever seen - graphics issue...

I am not even sure how to describe it. It is an "image" of a starting image of a YouTube type video. it is stuck in the upper left of my desktop. But it isn't visible unless there is a window open on...

    [ubuntu] Re: Sluggish/choppy compiz animations.

Thanks, that did seem to make a difference.

IMHO the bigger issue really is what that link talks about and I have posted about before. From 10.10 to 11.04, compiz went from version .86 to .94,...

    [ubuntu] What happened to compiz.org

If you Google "compiz" the first link is:

That web page is a nice looking page, but it hasn't been updated in over a year and their forum was locked/shut down Sept...

    [ubuntu] Sluggish/choppy compiz animations.

I am happy with 12.04, Unity is actually growing on me. But the animations (shrink, zoom, etc) are commonly choppy. My machine is fairly fast (see sig) and should have no problem with any of the...

  19. [ubuntu] Re: Installing other distros along with Unity.

Desktops is what I meant, I just worded it poorly. Unity is actually growing on me, although I definitely miss the traditional GNOME2 launcher.

    Thanks
  20. [ubuntu] Installing other distros along with Unity.

I know you can install different distros/sessions whatever you want to call them, on top of eachother. Like in the picture below from this article, but what are the problems if any. I think it would...
