Re: May 2009 Screen shot thread

It's pretty interesting. I like the way it handles windows; you can place them by holding shift and pressing a number on the keypad. They use the term gravity. Because of this, it's unlike other...

Re: May 2009 Screen shot thread

I'm using Openbox, tint2, trayer, and urxvt. For some reason trayer's transparency is acting up in this screenshot.

    Re: CompUSA is back.

Circuit City also seems to plan to reopen CircuitCity.com. Perhaps it's all some recession-induced virus that turns dead companies into zombies?

Re: April 2009 Desktop Screenshot Thread

I think cardinals_fan wins on this one. SliTard works almost perfectly.

Also, I went dark this month with tint, trayer, and conky. If you want any configs or more information, ask and you shall...

This made me laugh so hard because my math teacher had an all-out celebration of Pi day in class yesterday.

Poll: Re: What kind of mouse do you use?

I use a Razer Copperhead. Works great for games, even in Linux.

  12. Re: Suggest Components for a Powerful Assembled Desktop

cb[random#'s] is right. Intel's the fastest, but much more expensive when you account for the motherboard and (possibly) DDR3 RAM. Personally, I'm going to get a Phenom II, but that's just because I...

    Re: Computer Overheating?

Alright, I started the latest CD version of memtest86+ before I left for a movie, and by the time I got back my computer had shut down. What, exactly, does this mean? Did it find some sort of fault...

    Re: Computer Overheating?

My RAM was acting up earlier, but that was because I didn't have the two new sticks seated properly. The resets aren't entirely random, they happen when there are fairly intense 3D graphics...

    Re: Computer Overheating?

    - I did that while I was putting in the new GPU

    Re: Computer Overheating?

    Yes I do. I've got an AMD 64 X2 5000+ that's running at about 30 degrees Celsius.
Not too sure, but the thermostat in a nearby hall says 64 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 17 or 18 degrees...
