  1. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

Iīve tried now copying the xorg.conf (though the extension was changed automatically to a date) to the folder
"etc/X11/Xsession.d/", and after rebooting, nothing changed, no new CoolBits features...
  2. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

OK, thanks. So this detail is actually insignificant.
  3. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

Hmm, if that value addresses newest cards, it probably wonīt do anything. I will give it a try though, but especially
will create that copy of xorg.config in that other folder you mentioned. If this...
  4. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

As I said, I tried values 1, 4 and 5, and because someone told me so... the reasoning for this I think itīs because mine
is an old card. I could use any value, of course, as long as it works...
    ...
  5. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

Iīve tried a new thing: deleting the xorg.conf so the Nvidia Panel saves the X Configuration file just in case
there could be some error somewhere. Well, once saved and added the "Option ...
  6. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

Yes, looked for it everywhere, but it is missing. Hmm, the card is an old popular 9800 GTX+, so I guess it
should be supported. What else could I try? Could I have done something wrong?

    Thanks.
  7. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

    Hi,

Iīve tried this method but to no avail, CoolBits doesnīt show up nowhere.

First time I tried the command, there was an error reporting that there was no /etc/X11/xorg.conf file,
    I...
  8. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

Iīll have a look tonight when I can.

Why isnīt your card supported? It should be, being a modern card. I hope my old card is. I just need it for the
desktop and TV and video playback, not to...
  9. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

Ah, OK, I wasnīt sure what that was exactly, and didnīt have the time yet to try it. I saw somewhere some
commands and thought that every detail, and there were many, had to be executed through...
  10. Re: Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

    Thanks for your input.

So the installation problem is that this program is not updated... No other similar program witg a GUI?
Hmm, command line conrtrol for something like this is, I donīt...
  11. Overclock-Underclock Nvidia graphics card.

    Hi,

What programs are available to overclock/underclock and reduce fan speed for Nvidia graphics
    cards on Linux?

I have found "nvclock-gtk_0.8b4+cvs20100914-5_i386.deb", but when trying to...
  12. Re: Audio editor to record line input from shortcut.

Ah, OK, sorry. Will have a look. Thanks.
  13. Error when adding undetected screen resolution.

    Hey guys,

When trying to add an undetected resolution, I get the following error. What is wrong? anything missing?
Not sure if I did all the correct steps in the process. Please, check the log...
  14. Re: Audio editor to record line input from shortcut.

Thanks for the input, but I wanted an app with GUI and VU, with volume meter so I can see the peaks
and when the sound signal stops.
  15. Re: Audio editor to record line input from shortcut.

    Thanks, Iīll have a look!
  16. Re: Audio editor to record line input from shortcut.

Yes, thanks, Wine could be an option. But for such a simple task, a native light audio editor would be nicer.
I have yet to install the latest version of Wine to test some heavier Win apps.
  17. Re: Audio editor to record line input from shortcut.

Thanks! Iīll give it a try.

Well, by "instantly" I didnīt really mean it.. itīs OK if it takes 1 second to start recording. But, Iīd rather prefer
a GUI which has a VU, a volume meter, so I can...
  18. Audio editor to record line input from shortcut.

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know an audio editor on Linux which can be launched from a shortcut to instantly start
recording? On Windows there is NGWave which does this perfectly.

    Thanks.

    Regards.
  19. Re: Why so very few 16:9 aspect ratio resolutions.

Yes, it is identified but the app nor the OS monitorīs settings show that resolution, 1600x900.

Thanks for that guide, Iīll give it a try, though I didnīt want to force a resolution like this....
  20. Re: Why so very few 16:9 aspect ratio resolutions.

Itīs already installed, the correct version for my card, but Nvidiaīs settings doesnīt show the 1600x900 mode.
Perhaps there could be a solution forcing it, but never did this, so I prefer to see...
  21. Re: Why so very few 16:9 aspect ratio resolutions.

Yes, but 1600x900 is not there, neither through System/monitor...
  22. Re: Why so very few 16:9 aspect ratio resolutions.

Native on mine is 1920x1080, but through System/monitor and Nvidiaīs app 1600x900 is not there...
Iīd like to use 1600x900 and, more often, because the fonts and everything is not so small.
  23. Why so very few 16:9 aspect ratio resolutions.

    Hi guys,

Xubuntu, Nvidia card, 23" Full HD Asus monitor.

On Linux why do I have just one 16:9 resolution? 1920x1080. The next lower res is 1680x1050, which
seems not to be 16:9; the videos on...
  24. Re: Desktop icons with visible rectangle around letters.

Oh, I forgot to ask something related to this same theme. The greyed out parts of the windows, menus
and submenus, etc. are difficult to see because its font is dark against dark green. Is it...
  25. Re: Desktop icons with visible rectangle around letters.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. This theme is Elementary Dark. Itīs gtk3, but also gtk2, apparently, because it installs the
gtk2 folder too, along with unity and metacity. Could the gtk2 interface...
