Re: The Most Frustrating Experience You've Had

In college I used to run network drops as a job. We'd run 100 yards of Cat5 through crawl spaces, drop ceilings, etc. We'd crimp the ends, and inevitably the professor who "ordered it" would change...

    Re: Ubuntu 18.04 collecting Data ???? :(

"Whether you have network connectivity" is funny in that simply receiving the report ought to tell them that.

Everything listed there seems reasonable to collect for development purposes and...

    Re: php/html not showing

Tough to say without seeing your php code, but I'm guessing your headers are off by a directory. I suspect this because I can see evidence for the image.

View source on each page and then flip...
  5. Re: Ubuntu 16.04 completely unable to reboot/shut down.

I assume you're using the GUI to shut down. When you shut down from the terminal, does it give a useful error message or alert?

Maybe try adding or changing repositories?

I mean, you can still technically google each one and add them one by one like this:...
  7. Re: Let's hear your top 5 Ubuntu version names

Man, I can't be the only one who hangs on the names.

And for OSs that use names:
Ubuntu > Debian > "secret" Windows code names > Mac OS

Ubuntu's creativity beats Debian's theme. Those are out...

Well, since you have Windows and something Debian based (ubuntu), how about something like CentOS or Fedora?

Re: somebody tell me how to get this theme?

Did you forget to attach a screenshot?

BTW, why are you sticking around on 10.10? Might be a good time to update it to at least 14.04 LTS.
  12. Re: Where to get help with a very small project needing knowledge of php?

Check out the devshed forums for any help with programming. There's a large active section for PHP for help with coding. You could also try freelancer.com (formerly known as rentacoder.com) if you...
  13. Re: What is Different Between Window,Ubuntu and Linux?

  16. Re: Thinking about giving Ubuntu another try - Skype?

Thanks, all. I'll give that a try.

Pretty much this^ I don't like Skype but I don't really have a choice. Most of my business contacts use it so I have to cater to what they want.
  17. Thinking about giving Ubuntu another try - Skype?

I try to change OSs whenever I need to do an OS reinstallation. I do this so that I gain a variety of experience in various OSs and keep reasonably up to date.

It's been a few years since I tried...
