    Re: Netflix in Ubuntu, Method

I agree that Virtualbox is not a solution.
Intel Celeron processors don't exactly excel at emulating operating systems just to run netflix. I'm downloading ReactOS right now just for kicks just to...

[ubuntu] Re: Linux alternative to foobar player?

Thanks a lot for this. Saw the post on the archlinux forums. Awesome program. Solid.
  4. [all variants] Re: HowTo: iPhone Tethering Using USB/TCP Tunnel and SOCKS Proxy Over SSH

Awesome! This worked perfectly for me with no problems!

I'd like to know a little more about how this works, and why my iPhone is on root@127.0.0.1

    Thanks!

    [update] Looks like that iproxy...

    Are you kidding me?
The original problem isn't solved. And Twinview is a useless
alternative to actually having two separate screens rather than spreading it all out and calling it good. Twinview...

lol. I wasn't aware Xifis came in laptops. What a shame.

[ubuntu] Xchat IRC log nick coloring

    Hai,
I'm trying to copy over a log from xchat.
Copying works fine but I need the names colored.

I think it would be an awk command but I could be wrong.
Is there a way to do this?

[ubuntu] Re: Synergy behind 2 routers

    Ok.

Turns out I lost connectivity after changing the ddwrt client to the same subnet. Restart on windows and router reboot didn't lead anywhere.

I'll look around about routing between different...

[ubuntu] Re: Synergy behind 2 routers

Idk. Someone told me I should change the client router's subnet. I thought that they would conflict.
    I'll change it back.

[ubuntu] Re: Synergy behind 2 routers

The 2 routers are on different subnets.
The computers obtain their IPs through dhcp.

    [ubuntu] Synergy behind 2 routers

Hi. I'm using synergy with an Ubuntu box and a Windows box.

It works fine behind one router, when they're both plugged into the same.
But, I have a ddwrt router in my room, as a client,...
  12. [kubuntu] Re: Grub2: What/how to edit to change default-boot-order?

    grub-install (GNU GRUB 0.97)

    Used grub-set-default 8 (nothing changed) http://3.ly/wDOl
    sudo apt-get install grub2
    kept local version
    worked.
  13. [kubuntu] Re: Grub2: What/how to edit to change default-boot-order?

Default in 9.10 ubuntu is a 1.97 beta I believe. Figured same settings applied since I was seeing the same setup as GRUB2. (And that Startupmanager and grub editors weren't working).

    Remade the...
  14. [kubuntu] Re: Grub2: What/how to edit to change default-boot-order?

Actually I did run sudo update-grub.
    Every time.

And yes, when running sudo update-grub it asks you if you would like to create the menu.lst file.
If you say yes, it doesn't ask you to create...
  15. [kubuntu] Re: Grub2: What/how to edit to change default-boot-order?

    I followed http://3.ly/yXa
and it didn't work. None of these have worked for me.

My cfg file is as follows: http://paste.ubuntu.com/358204/
    My default file is: http://paste.ubuntu.com/358205/...
  16. [ubuntu] Re: Speakers don't disable when headphones are plugged in

    The speakers were Altec Lansing.

Hopefully the next release of Ubuntu (after 9.10) will fix this issue.
As well as the major regression of: 'no "Do Nothing" on lid close.'

    [ubuntu] Re: Apt-build World

So far I just remove that package name from the list, and cut the ones that worked for later reference.
    Then rerun the script.

2 days and counting of this behavior.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on Windows.
Which is what I would like, for a comparison.

But thanks for the link anyways.

    [ubuntu] Apt-build World

I know people say that this is pointless,

    I have apt-build world running,
