i solved my problem by declaring my drives in fstab, and allowed them to be mounted during boot time.
When i was trying timevault i came across a newer and another solution which worked well for me. Try Back in Time.

nautilus-open-terminal doesn't seem to work on my ubuntu 9.10 (64bit). upon installation, it gives me the "Open in Terminal" shortcut in nautilus when i right-click, but doesn't give me the terminal....
