[ubuntu] Re: extension "GLX" missing on 11.04

I had this problem too, and for a long while I didn't bother to fix it (I've tried before). Just now I've managed to fix it though.

I've checked my Xorg log, and saw it was loading GLX as nvidia,...

Re: trying to run E-sword in wine

    I had problems running it.

All I did was install vcrun6 into the prefix. That's it, and all was good. (I also installed fonts too though so I could have something useful to use)

    [ubuntu] Re: Apache permissions

If you're using ProFTPD, you could use mod_exec to execute a command after files are uploaded, to change them to www-data.

If you want to know what I do. Is this.

I have a user, which my files...

    [SOLVED] Re: Server project

Correct. The Server Edition has no GUI. You do everything from the command line. But this allows the server to be the most minimalistic it can with what you have installed, plus, remember that GUI's...

    [SOLVED] Re: Server project

  11. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu Server with Ubuntu-desktop. Good or Bad? How to auto console mode?

For your GDM command, just remove ".f"!

sudo update-rc.d gdm removeNote: .f may have meant -f, which is to force removal.

Oh, and also, did you see my post on page 1, where I said that removing...

  13. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu Server with Ubuntu-desktop. Good or Bad? How to auto console mode?

If you seriously seriously need some tools to manage it with, I use Webmin + Virtualmin. It helps to complement the command line. :)

    [ubuntu] Re: Apache permissions

775 is good, but all the files are supposed to be owned by the Apache user, www-data. This is why you have to add additional permissions.

    Does this work?

    //include "/etc/bind/zones.rfc1918";

    [ubuntu] Re: server vs generic?

No, it shouldn't be a problem. Your servers are already 64-bit, so you aren't loosing anything by removing a PAE kernel (unneeded in 64-bit).

Gnome, KDE, and Xfce are not processes, but desktop...

    [ubuntu] Re: server vs generic?

    Gnome, KDE, xfce, ...

Walk in the park. The only thing you need to do is install and use the Desktop kernel in your server, which is easy since they use the exact same repositories.
