    Hello All,

    this is the scenario..

I have a Pentax camera with an SD card: I can either mount the camera with an USB cable or extract the SD and insert it with an adapter in an USB port.

    that's it! thanks.

sorry about the code tags, I wasn't aware.
  9. [SOLVED] Re: "The backup GPT table is corrupt, but the primary appears OK, so that will be use

sorry, I was too fast.. as soon as I recreate the array, the error comes back.

    This is what I did...

    sudo umount /dev/md0
    sudo mdadm --stop /dev/md0
    parted /dev/sdc

  11. [SOLVED] Re: "The backup GPT table is corrupt, but the primary appears OK, so that will be use

sorry, I wasn't able to express myself clearly... that's what I wanted to say... if I should go backwards, deleting the array first, and deleting the partition before I create the new GPT table.
  12. [SOLVED] Re: "The backup GPT table is corrupt, but the primary appears OK, so that will be use

this would imply deleting the array, or just formatting md0?
  13. [SOLVED] "The backup GPT table is corrupt, but the primary appears OK, so that will be used."

    Hello All,

I am building a new server for storage.

Some say it is better to keep the system partition out of RAID, so I installed Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS on one 250GB disk, planning to manually...
  14. [SOLVED] Re: Partition 1 does not start on physical sector boundary

as I learnt that alignment doesn't matter for mounting, I looked elsewhere.

Loading mdadm on a live CD did the trick, and I could pull data off the disks.
  15. [SOLVED] Re: Partition 1 does not start on physical sector boundary

I assumed I could not mount the drive BECAUSE partitions were not properly aligned: am I wrong?

This array has been spinning for years, so I will replace the drives with 2x 4TB new ones.

  16. [SOLVED] Re: Partition 1 does not start on physical sector boundary

    Thanks, Oldfred,

    I will try that.

I would like to preserve data on partitions 2 and 3: would it be useful to delete partitions 1 and 3 before alignment?
  17. [SOLVED] Re: Partition 1 does not start on physical sector boundary

    TheFu,

    thanks for your kind reply.

the disks have been removed from the server because port 22 looks closed now, so no ssh access and no backup of data is possible.

    I have gparted on my...

  22. [ubuntu] Re: after last kernel upgrade, all printers vanished...

    that's correct.

Well, no, no printers even with the previous kernel.

So what can I possibly have done to flush out 6 printers in a row?

    Hello All,

I had thought so, but I can't figure which commands they shall need to execute.
