no i got the update that fire fox did away with with support for 32 bit flash player

make sure windows has closed all the programs for the cam in ( msconfig )
turn them off and reboot
ubuntu only uses 1 program at a time for the cams that iv seen

you may try un installing pepper flash
then see if you can get updates for flash player
pepper flash turns off flash player

my wife uses windows and no chrome
but for some reason pepper flash was installed
it turned off flash player
she had to uninstall pepper player
then get updates for flash player all is good now...
as of the late chrome and flash player are fighting each other

and it turns off flash player

skype
if you see them turn them off to never auto start
windows has taken over skype and windows turns every thing...

close skype all the way using the icon up top
open a terminal type lsusb click enter
does it show the cam in the list if yes close the terminal
retry...
are you turning your debugging program off all the way
or are you just pausing it
if your just pausing it. its showing the cam as still on
thats why lsusb cant find it

i have seen that cheese sometimes dos not turn off all the time
that will stop skype from showing your cam
as far as i know we can only use i program at a time with the cam
