Did you find a solid GNOME based distro? Tried many so far including Debian and did not like any.

Installed my system with Xubuntu Lucid 10.04 and have two monitors with high res and high freq, but have no option to run a dual monitor system wuth Matrox G450 PCI.

I recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty). This card worked out if box for me. It was a fresh install. Maybe I was lucky, but it worked for me.
