Suggest you pick out a card which has decent price and good cricits on heat/noise then search around to see if it's working fine with Ubuntu. As far as I know, nVidia still has closed source drivers,...
Really like the GTK-theme. Just wish the scrollbars weren't so light.
Could you tell a little about what processes you killed to achieve that?

Wow, a lot has happened to Conky since I last used it..
I'm trying the "photo_album_lua" thing, but receive an error..

Kung Fu. My coach is from Shaolin in China. :D
It's very ugly. Way too dark and I see no sense in why logo should be placed exactly where it is.
æøå will happen.
The three last Norwegian letters in the alphabet. :)
Power consumption (at least for newer laptops) is based upon the quality (and compatibility) with the kernel, hal, xorg, graphic driver etc. In my experience, the DE hasn't much to do about it.
I just repeated what said from the health-science link. Hey, why do you think I started this thread? :P
People from Norway are basically born with a spoon of oatmeal in their mouth. Besides,...

What I've heard is they break down and build up the molecules, or something. Anyway the energy used obviously isn't natural to us and our body reacts negatively to it.
Well I eat Quaker oatmeal and they only have cooking directions for the microwave. It's a bit strange, I think.
The reports are natural veggies and such I think. Just do a search and some will pop...
What's your opinion of microwave ovens? Everyday I cook oatmeal in the microwave oven, but I'm not so sure if it's really healthy. Lots of reports says negative changes (higher cholesterol, less...
This looks really nice, at least from an end-user view. When is it stable and safe to use this software?
Linux adoption wont be like BOM! everyone uses Linux. It will go slowly and steadily IMHO. However the spark has been lit and the fire only grows quicker and quicker now. :)
This is a start:

While I don't care too much for security, my WRT54G became incredible more stable than the software bundled after installing Tomato.
Are you running Ubuntu 8.10 or 8.04.1? Have you installed graphic drivers from System-Administration-Hardware Drivers?
First off I suggest you copy the original xorg.conf back. Xorg.conf is based upon what hardware you have, so sharing the same file between different computers doesn't work very well. :)
Now check...
I'm pretty sure your problem lies in the root section, which as you can see, is exactly the same in both Ubuntu and XP. I think it's supposed to be like this:
### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS...
Then you are probably using the official drivers from ATI (you can see if they are enabled in System-Administration-Hardware Drivers).
If you aren't using those you are using the open-source...
Those are the official wallpapers for Gnome. Except for Solare (blue sun), which is the official wallpaper for Fedora 10. It's strange they don't include them, many of those are really beuatiful.
Hm, what are you trying to do in the first place? Install, remove, launch?
In any case, updating and cleaning the system is a good start:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo...
You can see if there are any additional drivers in System-Administration-Hardware Drivers, which hopefully will work on your system. :)
All those problems are due to the current (probably radeon...
