Why not just ssh into the OS X box? It should mount on your Ubuntu desktop after that & you'll be able to drag & drop via nautilus.

Looks like your D: drive is an Extended partition with other logical partitions on it. I honestly have no clue how to fix this without possibly breaking something on your system. It looks like you...
An easy way to manage your compiz effects is to use ccsm. In a terminal type
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Once it install, hit Alt+F2 and type "ccsm" (without the quotes) &...
If Infra Recorder burns ISOs, you should be good to go. I've personally never used that program. But just try burning it at a really low speed & it should work fine.

Maybe that thread will be of some help.
Another vote for nVidia here, too. I'll never use ATI again until they get their drivers in Linux sorted out.
/home partition ftw. I used to not run with one of those, but it makes everything...
Silly question. In the terminal are you cd'ed to your Desktop folder? i.e.
cd ~/Desktop
Yeah, I just downloaded Google Earth to my desktop, typed
cd ~/Desktop
chmod +x GoogleEarthLinux.bin...
Have you tried a live disc in the computer to see if it boots up?
This is just a copy & paste from translate.google.com from the readme file in the archive.
The translation was actually pretty good, IMO.
What kind of full screen video? Streaming from the internet or a video on your hard drive?
I just answered my own question. I tried it with flash & it just went back to the browser.
Dude, how bored were you? The great thread resurrection of 09!
Instead of
mount /dev/sda2 /media/root
try
mount /dev/sda5 /media/root
Since sda5 is where your ubuntu partition is.
@Ayuthia Wow. What a nice thing to know. I've never run into that problem but thank you for explaining so much of what xev does.
The alternate install disc is my vote, too.
It's not as pretty as the graphical install, but it took me back to 4.10 days. :D
You may want to run something less intense as well. Perhaps try...
And I did. And I supplied as all the info. The responses I got were questions I covered in my original question. I had never connected to a network via command line and while in the wiki it does say...
So I've been trying out Arch & hanging out on their forums for a while. I've asked some questions, but the problem I've found with Arch has nothing to do with the distro. It's the people in the...
Hey, I'm from Anderson originally, too. My wife & I are in Portland, Oregon right now. But we miss our friends back in Indiana. So we're looking to come back there in a month or so.
Huh...don't know how I completely missed that line...
Load up a live disc. Mount both your ntfs (windows) and ext* (ubuntu) partitions.
You should be able to drag & drop your files from the Ubuntu partition to the Windows partition no problem.

Well, with linux, you're not going to find a letter for a drive ever. So let's get that out of the way.
I haven't used a floppy in about 7 years meaning I haven't used one with linux. But I would...
I wasn't entirely sure that first one would work, but I was pretty sure the second one would.
Glad to hear you got it working! :D
Also, if you can't login to your main account & have to use a livecd, I believe you can also set the name manually.
sudo chown soley:soley /home/soley/.ICEauthority
I've used that before &...
I'm probably wrong on this, but shouldn't it be:
sudo chown $user:$user /home/user/.ICEauthority
Where the "user" (in /home/user/...) is your username and there's a colon between the two...
Burn a cd & put Ubuntu on it that way.
My name on there is Soley. Been trying to get my feel for it back after about 3 years of not playing.
