On my Linux Mint Cinnamon Laptop - 11.6" Intel 1.6GHz 4GB 16GB SSD Acer C738T Netbook, the sound is EXTREMELY quiet. Perhaps my pulseaudio settings are wonky?

I figure i'll configure it to have 32 GB ram (16$) (maximum) and then (512GB SSD) for $25. I honestly don't think she'll need 1 TB.

running apt update gives a black flashing cursor
E: wrote error saving space cache. I tried that suggestion and that’s what popped up.
The package lists or status file cannot be parse or opened.
So it appears I have no free space left on my device. How can I fix this to restore some space to possibly free one of these issues
I assume I want recovery mode, correct?
There we go got into recovery. I will post back and see if it works.
I can see the grub menu but it’s bypassing it. I’m now currently sitting at a GNU grub version 2.06.
