    Re: Bypass VPN for some URLs

    That didn't work. Doing the commands by themselves work but once I modified rc.local to include them and restarted, a traceroute reveals that the routes aren't in effect. I'm on ubuntu 16.04 btw.

    Re: Bypass VPN for some URLs

    IPs yes, ultimately that's what I meant. If an url example.com resolves to 10.10.10.10 then, after adding this rule, browsing that url will bypass the VPN? Also, will this route persist after a...

    Bypass VPN for some URLs

    I want to know if there is a way to bypass the VPN for traffic directed to certain urls. I'm using openvpn with network manager. Ubuntu 16.04.
  4. [ubuntu] Re: Losing around 30% of bandwidth on wireless with new ADSL router

    Thanks! Setting 11n_disable=8 on my /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf file seems to have solved the issue. I'll test more thoroughly throughout the week.
  5. [ubuntu] Losing around 30% of bandwidth on wireless with new ADSL router

    I'm using a new wireless router (TP-LINK TD-W8960N) now and everything works fine but for some reason I'm losing close to 30% of bandwidth in ubuntu 14.04 on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 14z n411z) when...
  6. Re: rsync backup script is not executed by cron

    It turned out I didn't need to be that explicit. Is just that the cron environment won't be able to provide the passphrase for the RSA key. It seems that that fact alone was causing me a lot of pain...
  7. rsync backup script is not executed by cron

    Good afternoon people, I KNOW rsync & cron issues are regularly posted on these forums and I have spent the last three days going through a lot of the answers (that are tweaks of the same thing more...

    Re: Unthemed elements on ubuntu 14.04

    For whatever it's worth I found the element. Commenting this:

    GtkOrientable {
    background-color: @theme_bg_color;
    }

    from the gtk-widgets.css file fixed that issue.

    Re: Unthemed elements on ubuntu 14.04

    Yes I know and I reported it to the creator. I post here in order to see if I can find the name of that gtk element to patch the theme myself in the meantime.

    Re: Audacious is incredibly slow to start

    Ok, it wasn't the updated version that was giving me problems, it was actually the scrobbler plugin. It was kind of buggy and the old version started to behave the same way after enabling it. I...

    Re: Audacious is incredibly slow to start

    Apparently I was using an updated (3.3.3 version) version from webupd8 repository, I downgraded to the regular multiverse one and it isn't slow to start anymore. Thanks for the help.

    I know my situation must be unusual. I'm thinking maybe 64bits has something to do with it?

    Some icon theme replace systray icons

    Good morning,

    I've seen that some icon themes replace the systray icons of certain applications. For example, faenza replaces the icon of pidgin with one that is static, thus it doesn't reflect...

  19. [SOLVED] Re: Remove items from nautilus right-click context menu?

    I can't thank you enough!

    I love how everything on linux has a configuration file that you can simply mess around with to configure things :D
  20. [ubuntu] Re: Delete Unnecessary Nautilus Context Menu Items
