Its a bit annoying that you can't move it, I agree... however I like the idea. win+# to hotkey 10 apps is nice, especially since I used to forget all my old hotkeys for programs before.
If you...
Guys, make sure you are removing blacklists.
In your /etc/modprobe.d folder there are sets of blacklists. Often the STA driver will install a blacklist on the 43xx and all other broadcom drivers...
I think I've found a fix that works if you can manage to actually get into your ubuntu 11.04. It worked for me at least, so i'll break it down:
(only if you can't log in with classic!) To get in...

I got it working on mine. I purged all nvidia files and did a command line reintall again, had it save the xconf, restarted, and then opened the compiz fusion icon and made sure it was on...
Having the same issue with my driver for both the current and 173 drivers.
got this when trying to save the xorg.conf from nvidia-settings:

No ideas? I'll keep trying things. I checked my bios and there isn't a way to delay-boot, was wondering if maybe the windows restart was causing a problem there... but it seems unlikely since the...
The biggest problem I can see is if you're planning on removing the external, as in order for grub to work you'd need it plugged in, and once you install grub if you just unplug the drive and boot it...
Oh, i also forgot to mention that my ubuntu are on a separate disk from windows 7. I run jaunty,an older kubuntu, and a backup jaunty where I've written my own scripts to back up the entire partition...
Hey,
I've been working with ubuntu now for quite some time, but there is something that I'm guessing is an easy fix that's been really bothering me lately.
My computer loads grub fine on a cold...
you could just open your grub2 file and add xp in manually, kinda like how you have to do to windows 7 if you have grub1. I'm still learning grub2, maybe someone more experienced with it can tell you...

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
if gnash or swfdec are...
This can also be caused by some of the open source flash players being installed like gnash or swfdec... try this:
sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-* --purge
sudo apt-get remove --purge...
sometimes its a problem with gnash of swfdec taking over as default, you can test by right clicking on the flash video that isn't running and clicking preferences. If it's swfdec or gnash it will say...
Mac systems are proprietary. They work nice, but they don't have an entire community of millions of people working on them to make it better, and make free applications for them. It may seem there's...
the kernel is separate from the processes if that what you mean... most of the time when you change something you won't need to refresh unless you change something in the kernel or something goes...
Most of the information for drivers in the past can be applied, at least in part.
if you're looking into efficiency, use the multiple desktops feature and the keyboard shortcuts that ubuntu has...
run a live session and get rid of the auto login temporarily, and try setting it up again.
But what % then do you figure jaunty is at? i'd guess higher.
just sayin...
also, you shouldn't need to upgrade grub1 to grub2, that should be part of the upgrade. I agree with skymera that...
if you installed it on 2 separate computers and neither worked, thats kinda long odds that its a compatibility issue, unless you have two cloned computers.
Sometimes ubuntu can be a little wonky...
gksu gnome-terminal... similar to using sudo. Probably not the problem but also best to rule it out.
It almost seems like you're missing something... try repairing your installation through the...
this has happened to me every once in a while, it was actually solved by resetting the modem each time. yes, i know yours is working and hers isn't... but thats just how it was on my end too.
have you tried working out of a superuser terminal?
I moved over when i upgraded to windows 7 (dual booted)... which also has slightly larger buttons. The best advice i can give is make use of all the amazing capabilities with keyboard shortcuts that...
;-; adobe air... it definitely can run on jaunty (sorry for the cry face, i have bad experiences with adobe air) though i just used wine, installed it on windows and copied it over.
