    Ah one more thing I noticed is that it doesn't auto-dim the display while on battery. Maybe it gets confused with the blacklit keyboard? Manually setting brightness works but automatic would be nice.

    The wifi worked once the OS was installed.

    I tried disabling fastboot in w8.1 but it made no difference.



    The switching itself makes you relogin, but thats about all.

    You could install cairo dock, looks pretty nice, and then autohide unity.

    I wouldn't recommend Wubi, it is very slow. Installing skype for example on the real deal install takes a few seconds, for me on wubi several minutes.

    if you have free space, shrink the partition...

    I would create a dynamic partition with free disk space in vista and then tell ubuntu to use that new partition. Is that possible?
