You can bring it back, though! Just run this:

synclient TapButton3=2And it will work again. If you want to make the change permanent, make your /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50_synaptics.conf file...

Saw something interesting in the Precise Pangolin Beta 1 release notes:
Has anyone tried this out yet? If so, how does the touchpad behave?

Someone posted a fix for the suspend problem in the launchpad bug comments. Here's the link to the fix: http://thecodecentral.com/2011/01/18/fix-ubuntu-10-10-suspendhibernate-not-working-bug

I found an Xorg setting that helped a lot with the drag/drop problem. I added the following to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf:

    Option "LockedDrags" "true"

I actually do see the hibernate option in the UI on 11.10. And yes, it does work properly, too.

Done, at least for the suspend issue. I didn't really get a chance to test the mic before I sent mine back for repairs. I'll be sure to test that once I get it back.

I tried a "clickpad" synaptics driver patch that fixed right click problems on a bunch of HP laptops, but it didn't work for me. I think the reason is that the U300s touchpad is being detected as a...

[ubuntu] Re: wicd will not maintain wireless with wicd

Most likely your signal strength is showing up as 0 in iwconfig when you're connected wirelessly. If that keeps up for 12 seconds wicd declares the connection dead and tries to reconnect you. You...

    Re: Python feedback

It says don't mix spaces and tabs, and that unless you're maintaining legacy code (and the OP is not) you should favor 4-space indentation. Which is what I said, I think?

    Re: Python feedback

Try to keep your indentation consistent. It looks like you have a mix of spaces and tabs in there. Also the convention in Python is to use 4-space indentation, not 8, and definitely not actual tabs.

Re: Connection Manager: a new wireless manager

I think it's because our debian packager wanted us to wait until he built a package for us to use, and it's not ready yet. I'm not 100% sure on that though, Adam (compwiz18) could say for sure.

    Re: PyGTK Asynchronous I/O?

Could be, I didn't check when I tested it. It wouldn't be any worse than the "while 1:" one loop he was using. Like you said, if it does hog too many cycles it could easily be replaced with...

    Re: PyGTK Asynchronous I/O?

You have to do a few things for threading in a gtk app to work correctly. See here: http://faq.pygtk.org/index.py?file=faq20.006.htp&req=show

Also, you really don't need threads for this. The...

    You can use

    Re: Invalid syntax - Python

Where are the variables root and password coming from in your code? They don't appear to be defined anywhere. Or are they supposed to be strings as well?
