    I've switched from OpenSuse to Ubuntu. Hibernation works in OpenSuse but for some odd reason, it does not work in Ubuntu. Now I gave up enabling hibernation here, but I've partitioned a 17GB swap...

    Set brightness failure: empty /sys/class/backlight (no acpi_video0) & boot problem

    I "tried" to set the default brightness for Ubuntu 14.04. Following here, At first I did:


    echo 5 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
    then:

    sudo apt-get install xbacklight
    ...
