Look no further than SMPlayer then, which is IMO the best GUI for MPlayer, which makes it the best media player :P You can configure keyboard shortcuts in it from the GUI quite easily.
Yes, no open source driver available for Linux so far has GL 2.0 support AFAIK. Only nVIDIA/ATI (maybe others, don't know), mainly those with proprietary drivers..
It's not as hard as you think. I successfully made a few for my own needs, it's easy.
@FuturePilot & EdThaSlayer: Finally, someone who agrees with me! :P
@toupeiro: So you'd rather have new users to other distros go aliening packages, with a chance that it might not work, or mess...
Assuming that I actually got what you meant, there are a lot of eggs out there that would reach more people if better egg cartons were made :)
Why is it a problem for root access? It is designed so that end-users can use it to install non-core software. There are a lot of systems where users don't have access to root privileges, requiring a...
I've read some of the threads on this forum, and I couldn't help but notice that a lot of people here are against Autopackage becoming the de-facto way of installing third party software in Linux....
Why didn't you recommend Regnum Online?
Very good native MMORPG, linux-native, what more could you ask for? :P
Ok, this isn't exactly something related to the clan, but it's runescape related, so maybe I can ask here:
My cousin(a runescape addict :) ) is staying with me for a week or two, of course he needs...

Apply the Fix (don't worry, Eve Online Linux client is based on Cedega)
Wish I could buy it.. No credit card although I have the money to buy it :(
So you tried both, and they didn't work still?
Why not? :/
Actually, I'm compiling ATM, if you want, do you want to send me a deb with the patch removed?
Your ATI driver has not been installed correctly, hence the errors.
I'm in the same boat you are(actually, I'm not trying to run Guild Wars(hopefully will buy it soon), but other 3D games), and a...
WoW crashes with Wine when trying to use Multisampling in OpenGL. So far, it only worked for me in Cedega, using D3D.
Yeah, it'd be slightly faster, according to this list :http://www.notebookcheck.net/Comparison-of-Graphic-Cards.130.0.html
Three weeks ago.
Sorry, meant 946.
Well, it did work out of the box, but some of the effects didn't work, or glitched (funny looking and stuff).
With half the performance of it in Windows. (And...
Even ATI would be a better choice than Intel ;)
I wouldn't play games on any Intel card on Linux if my life depended on it..
Three friends of mine where at my house once, and they liked Linux so much, they asked me to put it on their laptops....
I would have joined if I still played Runescape, but now I moved to Regnum :D
Good Luck.
Great idea, I like them!
I just have one request so far, please make one for Regnum Online ;)
Do you play Regnum btw?
Hi,
I use Cedega for playing my games on Linux.
The latest versions of the ATI drivers and WINE have a problem with each other, which basically means no 3D games run well at all.
But with Cedega,...
SLI works on Linux, but it's performance advantage isn't as large as in Windows, so stick with a single card for now.
Sorry, but I gotta say ATI here.
nVIDIA has crappy 2D performance, which means you can't use KDE4.
While ATi's driver's have been improving steadily, everything works fine, Compiz with AIGLX, 3d,...
