  1. Re: Making a bootable USB in Debian 10 for ubuntu

I meant the output should be to a device - sdb, assuming this is correct -, not to a partition, sdb2.

But you can use a tool for safer results. Using DD and sending it to the wrong drive will...
  2. Re: Making a bootable USB in Debian 10 for ubuntu

It needs to be a device, not a partition.
  3. Re: SD card - Operation is already pending - Lubuntu 18.04

It's possible the cards and/or the reader are defective.
I would test the cards in a different computer if available. Also they may need to be formatted again.
  4. Re: Problem at the installation of Ubuntu 20.04 in my new laptop ASUS TUF GAMING FX5

Don't forget to disable Secure Boot.
  5. Re: Problem at the installation of Ubuntu 20.04 in my new laptop ASUS TUF GAMING FX5

Why would a sane person want a gaming laptop with at a GTX1050, GTX1650 or GTX1660TI and NOT install the Nvidia drivers?

And while there are many reasons to...
  6. Re: SD card - operation in process - Lubuntu 18.04

What "operation in progress" is that, exactly?
I mean does the message show up when you insert the card or after trying to copy something?

    [ubuntu_mate] Re: Use Privilege?

Only the user already in sudoers can add another with the same level of permissions.
  8. Re: Problem at the installation of Ubuntu 20.04 in my new laptop ASUS TUF GAMING FX5

Re: How do you install Google Earth

Never heard of such problem. Always installed the available deb in 64-bit system and it just worked.
Freezing is most likely related to insufficient hardware, namely graphics.
  10. [SOLVED] Re: Not able to install Virtualbox on ubuntu server 20.04

Leave Secure Boot off or alternatively manually sign all the Virtualbox modules/drivers. Considering the latter is not for newbies, it's time consuming and for no tangible benefit, better disable it...
  11. Re: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS unable to detect second monitor

    Welcome.

    Yes, it is.

    *-display UNCLAIMED

It should be running with Intel drivers that are opens source and installed automatically. Why they...
  12. [ubuntu] Re: Nvidia hibernation black screen Lenovo p51

Driver version is correct for the Quadro M2200 Mobile. Hopefully you didn't made too much experiments without deleting the previous versions as that can create compatibility issues.

    Re: I have some issues

UEFI systems always retain the .efi files (In the ESP - EFI System Partition) regardless of OS' partitions having been deleted. There's no problem keeping them. You can and should manage the boot...

[ubuntu] Re: Impossible to connect as a user

If you don't need TPM (eventually for Windows in dual-boot) then please disable it in UEFI.
Also disable Secure Boot as it prevents the unsigned Virtualbox drivers from loading.

    And, of course,...
  17. Re: Macbook Pro 2010 -- not waking up from suspend

    As expected.
In order to have suspension properly working you need the proprietary Nvidia driver 340. Not sure if still available for 20.04.
  18. [SOLVED] Re: Not able to install Virtualbox on ubuntu server 20.04

I would suggest you double-check the Secure Boot status and disable it if enabled.

  20. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 20.04 amdgpu crashes in sometimes hard reboot is necessary

    Start with updating the UEFI.
  21. Re: problem with broken nvidia in laptop

    No specialist would say that.
Either it's possible to toggle or enable/disable the dGPU Nvidia and use the iGPU Intel in UEFI ("BIOS") or, if not, the only option is to toggle via software, i.e. by...
  22. Re: network folder visible in file manager, but not in program/open

Yes, it seems Audacity wants local files only. It actually makes sense.
  23. Re: problem with broken nvidia in laptop

    Your hardware is definitely defective.
  24. Re: problem with broken nvidia in laptop

IF you can switch then at Nvidia X Server Settings it should show both profiles. Change and reboot.
  25. Re: network folder visible in file manager, but not in program/open

The above notwithstanding, if you installed the Audacity via snap then like any other snap the default is local access only. Please open the software app, search Audicity and if it is a snap you'll...
