    I am trying to make a status web site, simple, and wanted to check the status of certain services, like if vsftpd, avahi, cups are running.

    In /etc/init.d/
    touch noip
    pasted the script into that noip file created.

    ln -s /etc/init.d/noip2 /etc/rc6.d/

    Thats all?

    Are you using compiz or any other heavy graphic app?

    Also... have you tried dusting off the heaters? (watch out here.... you may need to open a bay o the computer)

    Thanks, what I was looking for was more of a command line thing, to force update, and see if it is work at the moment.

    I have doubts that its not working, and dont know how to debug it.
