  1. [SOLVED] Re: format of .lz4 files in /var/lib/apt/lists

    lz4 command should do it.

    lz4 file.lz4
    would decompress the file.

    dmn@Sydney:~$ apt-cache policy lz4
    lz4:
    Installed: 1.9.2-2ubuntu0.20.04.1
  2. Re: Is there any way I can get rid of the left dock on activities?

I for one can't duplicate the OPs situation, but based on what I can tell from my Ubuntu 20.04, in the screenshot of post #1, it appears that dash-to-dock is at the bottom, with opacity set to 0%...
  3. Re: Is there any way I can get rid of the left dock on activities?

What version of Ubuntu have you installed? That's important for someone else to investigate your problem.

[SOLVED] Re: Upgrading Paths for 20.04 to 21.10

I posted before seeing your reply. Yes, I saw that same popup offering 21.04 upgrade from 20.04. You are saying it will indeed be possible to upgrade 20.04 to 21.10 in one step after 21.04 is EOL.

Oh...my output is from 21.04 repositories (universe). linkchecker must be a recent inclusion. Also available in 21.10.

OK, thanks for this information. I'm going to wait for 21.04 to expire and then try out the 20.04 direct to 21.10 upgrade path when it's offered.

[SOLVED] Upgrading Paths for 20.04 to 21.10

I read the following on OMG Ubuntu Website:

How to Upgrade to Ubuntu 21.10

But can you upgrade 20.04 to 21.10 safely in two steps?
    1) 20.04 to 21.04
    2) 21.04 to 21.10

    When 21.04...
  11. Re: I want to upgrade from 18.04 to get to 21.04...what hurdles will confront me?

You are right. You can skip over a STS release when starting with the LTS. So I see my 20.04 is offering a direct upgrade to 21.04, but not to 21.10 - even though 21.10 is also supported. I assume...
  12. Re: I want to upgrade from 18.04 to get to 21.04...what hurdles will confront me?

It does say this in the line after the one you quoted. Please reread:
  13. Re: I want to upgrade from 18.04 to get to 21.04...what hurdles will confront me?

I've upgraded from 18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS on two machines in one step. Those were successful.

    Rules:
1 - STS (short-term support) releases only upgrade to the following release - regardless of...

  21. [ubuntu] Re: Tiny Firefox cursor after 21.10 upgrade?

  22. [ubuntu] Re: Tiny Firefox cursor after 21.10 upgrade?

Try login with "Ubuntu on Xorg" option instead of "Ubuntu". The "Ubuntu" choice starts the Wayland display manager. Does this make a difference?
  23. [SOLVED] Re: Gnome Shelle Extensions not working on 21.10

Yes, Firefox Snap cannot manage extensions. Neither can Chromium Snap

  24. Re: How to understand or How to check whether o software is 32 or 64 bit
