  6. [SOLVED] Re: Install 20.04 on existing 18.04 LTS alongside Win10

    Well, I just did it.
Fresh install of 20.04 over my old 18.04 LTS that was dual booting with Win10.
20.04 erased my old version and left Win10 as it was.
    Could not be simpler!
    My dual boot still...

  8. [SOLVED] Re: Install 20.04 on existing 18.04 LTS alongside Win10

  9. [SOLVED] Install 20.04 on existing 18.04 LTS alongside Win10

Rather than upgrading from 18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS, I am thinking of doing a fresh install of 20.04

I currently have 18.04 LTS installed alongside Win10.

My question is: can I just launch the...
  10. [SOLVED] Re: Boot time too long when NAS not connected

    Thanks again for your help.

    I eventually settled for "nofail".
This was suggested to me by a fellow Linux user.
    "no fail" did the trick.

However, I stuck to the mount entries you suggested:...
  11. [SOLVED] Re: Boot time too long when NAS not connected

Many thanks for your answer and suggestion.
However, when my NAS is switched off, boot time remains exactly the same: too long :(
  12. [SOLVED] Boot time too long when NAS not connected

When I start my Intel NUC and my NAS is not connected to the netword (is switched off), booting Ubuntu takes well over one minute.

    [SOLVED] Lost Dual Boot

I have just done something very stupid: erasing Windows by mistake.
Please do not ask me the whys and wherefores. I already feel stupid enough.
I have (had!) a laptop with dual boot Win 10/Ubuntu...
  17. Re: Should I put secure boot back on?

That is what I will do.
    It ain't brocken.
    I won't fix it.

And no, I did not install Ubuntu with Secure Boot enabled. I did not even know this was possible . I will bear that in mind for...
  18. Should I put secure boot back on?

I have successfully installed 14.04 on an Asus G750 JZ.

    Re: brightness function

    I have.
But I do not have the solution.
I did the same on my G750JZ and tried everything in terms of editing grub with the backlight vendor commands or making a xorg config file, to no avail.

    Re: japanese emoticon

The Chinese character above 壁 means "wall" and is read "kabe". I do not think that it has anything to do with an emoticon.

The last three characters チラッ are katanata...
