    mrspacklecrisp, thank you. Elementary looks interesting. Installed it from their ppa (ppa:elementary-os/daily). It looks like a hybrid of Gnome 3 and Unity.
    But it's not touch friendly. May be KDE...

    You can read my previous posts about MT on 2nd-gen - #962 and #963. I use GINN and UTouch.
    Multi-touch gestures work (i.e. rotate and zoom in eog).
    Better GINN gestures script is needed.

    You can still try uTouch+GINN if you install original xserver-xorg-input-evdev package. For me it does not work with Plippo's one.

    There is no hid_multitouch module in your lsmod output. It is not good. What version of xserver-xorg-input-evdev do you use - version from Plippo, or original Ubuntu 11.04...
