Re: Is money the root of all evil?

This thread amuses me. That's why I started it, because I knew it was semi-original, and would get a bunch of people's panties in a bunch. I couldn't care less about what "the root of all evil" is....

Is money the root of all evil?

I tend to think it is. It seems like most people are very concerned with making money. It seems like a universal thing. No matter where you live, or no matter where you are, money is pervasive and...

    Re: Forum Redesign?

I just do Super key + N and those colors go away. Better at night also.

Re: Is lubuntu really that bad?

Don't be so dramatic. ;) I would give peppermint a shot, worked good for me. If not, just keep trying different distros. Puppy anyone? Btw, I think puppy 4.2.1 was the best ever and still use it on...

    Re: media players

I have no complaints with anything multimedia in ubuntu. Everything I've tried works perfectly. But perhaps I'm just one of the lucky ones.

I would try K3B for making audio cd's. K3B rocks.
  9. Re: Ubuntu 10.04 is a beautiful release- it's time to coordinate large scale advertis

All of these ideas are really great and would love to see them happen, but who is going to pay for airtime? It costs major amounts of money to advertise on TV and radio.

[ubuntu] Re: Nvidia Twinview and games.

As a workaround, I just go to system>administration>nvidia x server settings and temporarily change it so that the second monitor is disabled. Then put it back after playing. This is temporary, so...

If you are that concerned, just go http://shop.canonical.com/index.php?cPath=19 and buy the restricted stuff.

Re: Linux share at record high.

That's a weak argument. What about the people who know 20 linux users? I personally know 6 users.
  13. Re: Firefox 4 pre-alpha Available for download!

  15. [ubuntu] Re: Problem with volume control pulse audio not starting

I would completely remove pulse audio and alsa and rebuild alsa with module assistant. Then do:

    sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get autoremove
    then

    sudo apt-get install module-assistant
    then

Re: Main Support Week - Do Your Part

It seems that some people are not good at googling, so even providing a link for someone can start them in the right direction even when you don't know the answer.
