  10. [xubuntu] Re: xubuntu 20.04 LTS , how do i compile and install this SSD driver?

if it is supported by newer kernels you could get the 5.7 kernel from the mainline, 5.7 does not break the virtualbox dkms stuff
    https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.7.2/
    if installing...

  12. [ubuntu] Re: GPU Fan curve not increasing until GPU hits max temp

zip the file and attach it to a post

  13. [ubuntu] Re: GPU Fan curve not increasing until GPU hits max temp

My 580 works correctly, i also have a high performance cooler on it
typically the vBIOS is programed to target a fan RPM and the sense reading is expected to be near what the stock fans do
    what i...
  14. Re: Xorg fatal error: no screens found

I think figured it out if you force the ram speed on RX 580 to it's lowest power state (300Mhz @ 0.75V) it has a high chance of crashing when waking from sleep mode, forcing the core and mem clocks...

IF that is the issue you could run a older version of ubuntu, debian, or raspberry pi OS on a box attached to the scanner and share it, if it shows up in scanimage -L it should work

    [ubuntu] Re: Scanner: Brother DS-7400

It could be a permissions error, try running scanimage as root
    scanimage -L
This should list your scanner, if it does not try it as root (sudo)
also try to scan a document using scanimage
