Hi,
I have an older 2009 iMac 9,1 with Nouveau (Nvidia) GFX on Ubuntu Mate 20.04. It works quite well with one exception, it does not resume from sleep. Doesn't wake up by touching the...
Here I ride in with a partial answer only 4 years later:
jhead -autorot *.jpg
Sorry, at the time I didn't understand your answer about !tty_tickets and the new version of sudo.
Two years later I find it turns out this was an interaction with the fish shell. More details...
No one have an idea?
Hmm, running out of ideas ...
What about sending it into wc -l ? what does it give you?
Try booting the Live CD into ram to see if the problem is related to upgrading, or bad video driver, etc.
Nothin' to sneeze at kid. Ten years ago you couldn't buy a PC that powerful no matter how much money you had. ;)
What's it got in it?
lspci | grep -i net
iwconfig
Take the older Ubuntu Live CD, boot it and run the installer.
During the install, select manual partition editing. Then do what you need to. Remove the partition, format it, or just install...
sudo apt-get install build-essential
While I recommend you back up /home as well, I've installed Ubuntu over an existing install before. It deleted /usr and a few other folders but left /home alone.
You might try something like:

Hi,
Anyone know how to fix this? When I tab complete with mercurial and bash I get this ugly error which screws up the command line.
hg add <TAB> cat: _hg_cmd_add: No such file or...
I'd like to see more QA work done, and less change for change sake. Every release introduces as many bugs as features, which makes it scary to upgrade.
Worse, most of them never get fixed even...
Makes two of us. Nothing in dmesg either.
I did find this post that mentions that only memory stick doesn't work when connected via PCI. No idea if it is correct:

Thanks, am trying this now.
I don't appear to have the second file you mention, /etc/init.d/alsa-restore .
Hi,
I'm regretting upgrading from Maverick to Natty. Another of the problems I'm having is that I have to run alsamixer after every boot to fix my sound settings.
I've even tried "sudo...
Ok, I gave up and downgraded to compiz .8x via the instructions here: http://www.webupd8.org/2011/05/how-to-downgrade-to-compiz-086-in.html
Nice to have proper resize and zoom back. Things are...
It's actually worse than that, it asks every single time in the same terminal. I had an unmodified sudoers which worked fine in maverick and not in natty.
Does anyone know if this has changed or was broken in Natty? on Maverick it worked as expected, with sudo only asking for the password every 5 minutes or so.
I followed these instructions, didn't...

Hi,
Upgraded to Natty a week ago from Maverick and still using the Classic desktop. There were lots of minor issues but turned off a few things like wobbly windows and am mostly back to normal.

Not entirely sure what you are referring to. I looked thru compiz settings and did not find anything by that description.
I have some of the effects on, but not too fancy. Desktop has one of the...
