    I managed to fix it by using Gparted and testdisk to rebuild the MFT and now it works :)

    Everything looks good here now! I like the Plymouth theme. The only problem I have is a lack of control...

    When I hold F9 it displays a list of connected drives to boot from. the USB drive is listed, and has recently booted Fedora.
    GTKhash shows that the Checksum is the same as the one included.

    I'm guessing from your signature you're on Ubuntu 9.10? Right click the panel, click "Add to panel" and then add the control called "Indicator Applet".

    Well, after half a year and using 10.04 I fixed the main problem.
    I stayed with 10.04 until 11.04 was released and didn't look back at 10.10. Unfortunately, I still had connection issues with 11.04...
