Gnome 2 "classic."
I want to thank you for posting that xorg configuration. I have that exact eMac model and now I can use the 1280x960 resolution without any flickering or stuttering. Currently running 12.04. :guitar:...

Windows 7. Windows 8 looks unimpressive.
I recommend you use Ubuntu 10.04. Burn that image to a CD and use that to boot up on your old computer because I doubt USB flash drive booting will work.
Before you install Windows try using WINE without needing to install Windows http://www.winehq.org/. Your games might work but I haven't had 100% success so I dual boot.
Just know that installing...
If you can open the stream in VLC you can use VLC to capture the stream and save it in a wide variety of formats. I typically do this for radio broadcasts. Be sure to edit the settings because I...
Definitely will be Xubuntu if I decide to upgrade.
For $30 the Sansa Clip+ is a great option. There's no vendor lock in and the microSDHC slot means you can get more storage for cheap. Definitely the better buy compared to an iPod Shuffle.

Well, if you don't intend to use encryption then it doesn't matter. But encrypting your home volume or perhaps your entire hard drive protects your data in case your computer is stolen. I would argue...
I recommend partitioning 20GB for Ubuntu and I recommend using Ubuntu 10.04 or the latest Xubuntu release (11.10). 10GB is fine, too. You can always delete the Ubuntu partition and merge back into...
Do you have GRUB installed?
A very good one. :D

Go there and check it out.
Do you have more than one Firefox application installed on your system?
I would normally recommend buying a new hard drive but Thailand's flooding has caused HDD prices to jump dramatically.
I stopped using Dropbox when Ubuntu One came out.
Haiku and ReactOS.
Does CoverGloobus even work? I followed the instructions in the first post and this program doesn't do anything. It doesn't fetch lyrics, it doesn't display album artwork. I have toyed with all the...
