    Hmmm...I added a new users and setfacl worked on them. I deleted the user I was having an issue and recreated. It works now.

    Not sure what to think but is now resolved.

    I just installed a spankin fresh virtual machine with Ubuntu 12.10 iso and name resolution works on that machine. I wonder if reinstalling name resolution would fix the issue?

    Yes, I can ping all the nameservers and the gateway from both computers. I will remove all but three nameservers. I did that at the end but it did not help. It still has the issue without them.

    Fixed. I used the GRUB repair utility. When the RAID disk rebuilt it must have messed up my boot records.

    Dell thinks it is the RAID controller. I don;t. I ran the GRUB repair utility and it is seeing all the drives. It does not see an OS on the root drive.

    I think what is happening here is the secondary RAID drive is being rebuilt. This RAID controller does not have hot swap capability.
