I had the same problem, and then removed unnecessary packages via terminal. After that it booted fine.
sudo apt-get remove
It shows the stuff it wants to remove so you can check it.

To find out what your graphics card is type this in your terminal:
lspci
lspci -v
lspci -v | grep -i vga
lspci -v | less
Look for "VGA compatible controller: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Where you write "pulse" right under there is a area for jack.
If you download that, you can also record ingame sound (normally).
