I thought he wanted to do them all at once:

    find thisisfile1.* | awk -F. '{print $2}'

[all variants] Re: Searching through captured packets

Why don't you post a few lines of the captures (sanitize if you like). Something like this can easily be done with a scripting language like perl.

[ubuntu] Re: Updates killed wireless (mad wifi)

The wifi modules are related to the kernel - so if you upgrade the kernel they need to be rebuilt.

    See my post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=5175481&postcount=134

    The madwifi site...

Did you first uninstall the older kernel module? Something like:

    cd /path/to/madwifi
    sudo make uninstall
    sudo make clean
    sudo make
    sudo make install
    sudo modprobe ath_pci

  10. [ubuntu] Re: Atheros AR5007 not working on 8.04 Hardy

Did you read Tom's post #7? However, the 2756 driver isn't available anymore, you'll have to use the 3366.

    [ubuntu] Re: Atheros AR5007

Or try this link to use the madwifi drivers. IMHO it's a more versatile driver but you do have to roll your own.

[ubuntu] Re: Strange problem with AR5007EG

  13. [ubuntu] Re: How to enable wireless on compaq presario c700 running hardy?

Have you seen this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=769990

I don't have any experience with it (I have Atheros) but it may be what you need for your wifi chipset.
  14. [ubuntu] Re: How to enable wireless on compaq presario c700 running hardy?

Are you sure Broadcom is the wireless? I have a C751 and it's Atheros AR5007, if so you need Madwifi (awesome) or ndiswrapper. Post the output of:

lshw -C networkso we know what the chipset is.
