Does anyone try download and install the latest Catalyst 11.4?

The new fglrx (ATI proprietary driver) is in Natty repos now.
That is actually not a Catalyst 11.4 release (there is no such release yet, latest stable is 11.3), but a prerelease (fglrx 8.84).

where is AMD 11.3 ?

i don't see in amd.com

I prefer to choose Linux Mint instead of Ubuntu , Mint starts with some essential package, which ubuntu don't ,
Flash , audio / video codecs, and some more is installed, so don't bother you to do...

Well you should do


sudo mkdir /var/lib/mysql/


sudo chown -R mysql:mysql /var/lib/mysql/

are you sure you put the data dir in /usr/local/mysql/data

because ubuntu by default put the data dir in /var/lib/mysql

you could open /etc/mysql/my.cnf

and see the datadir

go to terminal and run this command


uname -a

or


lsb_release -a

Everything works fine by upgrading kernel into 2.6.37-020637 it's for natty , but its works perfect for ubuntu 10.10 too...
