I would purge them, but that is just me.
Actually, I remove all nvidia totally, and reinstalled clean. Paranoid by profession. :)
A while ago there was a update that went slightly out of order and broke nvidia. Kinda... The fix is to totally remove and reinstall the nvidia drivers. You update probably fixed it as well,...
