[SOLVED] Re: Clock For Unity Desktop

To reply to all three responses, yes I know 16.04 is EOL in April. I plan to take advantage of the Extended Security Maintenance at that point. The problem with graphics is that most distros beyond...

    Re: React OS, Anyone?

Well OK, all good points. Still: 20 years? You would think at some point they would decide to move on. 20 years is a big chunk of life. then again, maybe they're into Zen or something: "The journey...

    React OS, Anyone?

Has anyone actually gotten React to boot? I've tried three different versions, both Live and Boot CD, and it will not boot. Even got a BSOD once (hey, it's a windows clone, of course I got a BSOD).

  17. Do Different Versions Of Ubuntu Issue updates at the same time?

Probably a stupid question, but it occurred to me today. I run Ubuntu 16.04.7 and Bodhi 5. Bodhi 5 is based on Ubuntu 18. So, if Ubuntu 16 issues an update, does that mean Ubuntu 18 also does - and...

  19. Re: How To Choose Default In Sound Settings?

Thanks for the tip, but for some reason it seems to be working now. After resetting it a few times, it is now holding, with Analog selected as default. Hopefully this will continue. If not, I'll have...
  20. How To Choose Default In Sound Settings?

I have a Steinberg audio interface. Ubuntu recognizes it, but chooses "digital" output by default. I want it be "analog," but I have to change the setting every time. Is there a way to make "analog"...
  21. Bodhi 5 And Nvidia 6150se Graphics

I have finally found a Ubuntu-18-based distro that works for these rather ancient on-board graphics, which I am now using due to my video card dying. Previously, I could only get Ubuntu-16-based...
  22. [SOLVED] Re: Some questions before New Install Of 16.04.7

  23. [SOLVED] Re: Some questions before New Install Of 16.04.7

The only way I can get both U-16 and Lite 3.8 to boot is to have Lite be the Grub 0wner. If I have Ubuntu be the owner, Lite won't boot. not a big deal, except the Ubuntu grub is a lot prettier, with...
  24. [SOLVED] Re: Some questions before New Install Of 16.04.7

I'm glad to hear that it is still maintained. I too vastly prefer it to Gnome. Wasn't sure how well it worked in >Ubuntu 16 systems. I wish Xubuntu, Lubuntu and Mubuntu had 5 year support. If so I'd...
  25. [SOLVED] Re: Some questions before New Install Of 16.04.7

Thanks, I was not aware of that. It has helped me out many times, but now I'll use the live session version.
