    Re: Ubuntu bash terminal

It may be the file in /etc/sudoers.d on raspbian installs, called "010_pi-nopasswd" (or something like that, I am on my laptop not a pi unit, so I may have not have spelt the file name correctly).

Currently listening to: The Angels: Back Street Pickup.
Took up the dare, and failed; I liked it :)
    Agree with that!

Re: Have you upgraded to 20.04?

Not yet for myself; though I did do an Xubuntu 20.04 install (clean/fresh install) for another person a few months ago; it ran very well.

I'll probably wait until Xenial is EOL in April 2021...
  7. Re: Are there 32bit Linux versions still supported?

Standard support end of life for 16.04 is April 2021, so not quite right but only about five months left to go. With the use of ESM the end of life for 16.04 can be as far off as April 2024. Source....

    Re: hide partitions

    Yes. See next quote...

I specifically use the "diag" setting from "manage flags" to hide partitions, though I have never tried it on an EFI boot partition.

I have never set a diag flag on my...
  9. Re: When listening to music do you prefer audio only or do you like music videos ?

Yep, I reckon it does. :guitar: Some good music content there :).

Re: Code name for Ubuntu 21.04

I'd guess we'll either end up with "hamster" or "hare". Though there are a few rather "hirsute humans" about using Linux, myself being one of them :). Can't see too many more options listed --here--...
  12. Re: check for installed (objects?) via terminal

You're right there, thanks; I put it in without thinking earlier as a habit with using apt/apt-get. The code box command is now changed.
  13. Re: check for installed (objects?) via terminal

Anything installed can be removed using apt or apt-get, though doing so may remove wanted applications as well due to dependency issues. I don't really comprehend exactly what you are asking for...

  15. Re: Will 20.04 get an official Ubuntu mini install?

Not quite yet, a 64 bit focal mini.iso is still available --here-- 3rd one down the list.

It is getting much harder to find with this release for a reason. I have read recently that 22.04 may be...

    Sticky: Re: Ubuntu/Linux Screenshot Thread

You seem to be getting some very good results there. Nice work,.
What package or method do you use to set up your live background?

I use an mpv command here to do this which only...
  17. Re: How can i change how my linux computer works

Good to hear that worked :).

For setting up a combined sink I do a bit of scripting with the pacmd command to set mine up here due to spending a lot of time on a console only boot. My combined...
  18. Re: How can i change how my linux computer works

No need for the console/terminal if you have pulseaudio volume control (package name: pavucontrol) installed.
As an example of its use I have attached a screenshot, it shows xmms2 running (currently...

Yes I've noticed that a bit lately especially with some videos on sites like facebook (not all of the videos I view, probably only about 1 or 2 in every 10). I haven't had it that bad that the whole...

    Re: what is your flavor?

Xubuntu and Ubuntu Mate are both very good for my usage. I find the XFCE DE as the most flexible and easiest to set up and would probably rate as my favourite to use. At this current time Ubuntu Mate...
  21. Re: What was the last command you entered into Terminal?

No "Xmms2", not the old xmms GUI but the newer server/client application.

All command line and set up to be activated and fully controlled with easystroke mouse gestures. Tied in with pulseaudio...

    beer

As well as wearing stubbies, ie. short pants, in Australia you can also drink beer from stubbies, ie. short bottles of beer usually 375ml (about 12 1/2 fluid ounces).
