    20.04 is the best performing Gnome on my laptop; Celeron B830 @ 2x1.80GHz, 4GB RAM. I usually stayed away from Gnome due to low specs and aged equipment but it looks like 20.04 will be an exception.

    Maybe you can temporarily rename /opt/pia to /opt/pia.new, restore the file in trash, cd into /opt and remove it via terminal:
    sudo rm -rf pia/. You can then rename pia.new back to pia.
