    mkusb-plug also works great for Windows installer.
    sudo apt install mkusb-plug
    It has extra safeguards against installing to the wrong drive.

    I did not need 7-zip to extract the image file, Rufus will work with a .im.xz file directly.



    Better perhaps to install mkusb to the new drive and use that for making the Live drive.
