    [ubuntu] Re: DNSMASQ DHCP Troubleshooting

I have this option in my dnsmasq.conf:

    log-dhcp

I use tail -f /var/log/syslog to see what happens when I let a system connect. This is...
  2. Re: USB Ports Dont Work, and Xorg.config Empty!

"definitely not broken" got gray borders. When I delved into it, it turned out to have to do with stricter timings on Linux or laxer requirements from Microsoft.

[ubuntu] Re: Wacom Penpartner Issue: xsetwacom not working

Does the tablet need xorg.conf? That is not available by default if kernel mode settings are used (KMS).

If you did not do that yet, check what is available in /etc/X/ .

    Good luck!
  4. Re: USB Ports Dont Work, and Xorg.config Empty!

With KMS (kernel mode settings), there is no xorg.conf needed for X to run properly. I do not know about the touch pad, but the absense of xorg.conf as such, is not an error.

    The -110 error is a...

[kubuntu] Re: KDE 4.2 messed almost everything up

Kubuntu 9.04 is out now, but I still got the symptoms you describe.

    I think I upgraded from 8.04.

[kubuntu] Re: KDE print grayscale or black/white option

nevermind... The option is there, but it does not affect actual printing: it still turns out to print in colour.

So, if anyone has another guess, I'd be happy to try it out.

[kubuntu] Re: KDE print grayscale or black/white option

If anyone got the same problem, I found a workaround that worked for me:

    - go to the web interface of CUPS (http://localhost:631)
    - go to printers
    - go to "set printer options"
    - with some luck...
