  1. [ubuntu] Re: Error when running nautilus from terminal

    drowned@unknown:~$ mount | grep Windows

  2. [ubuntu] Re: Error when running nautilus from terminal

Ok I got a TON of Permission: denied errors. I also tried copying them to a flash drive and still got permission: denied.
  3. [ubuntu] Re: Error when running nautilus from terminal

I probably did it wrong but:

    drowned@unknown:~/.mozilla-thunderbird$ sudo cp -r /media/Windows\ XP/Documents\ and\ Settings/dr.owned/Application\ Data
cp: missing destination file operand after...
  4. [ubuntu] Re: Error when running nautilus from terminal

Great! Thanks for the help. I'm still having this problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1008257

(I was trying to see if a root nautilus would have the file permissions but this...
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Error when running nautilus from terminal

    *Bangs head on desk*

You are very correct. I don't know why I didn't see it was in the root home. So I assume root is basically like a separate user?
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Grub booting XP - 3OS (Vista, XP and U81)

I belive the only way to dual boot XP-Vista-Ubuntu (what i'm doing) is to have Vista control the XP boot and Grub to control Vista. To get XP back in Vista's boot menu, use EasyBCD, add a new OS...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Error when running nautilus from terminal

Ahhh and I'm running 9.04 alpha....makes sense. Can you explain why some folders are visible (.mozilla-thunderbird) in the regular nautilus but not in the root nautilus. Even with "show hidden"...
  8. [ubuntu] Can't move Windows Thunderbird files over

  9. [ubuntu] Error when running nautilus from terminal

    I ran:
    sudo-i
    nautilus

and I get this output (then nautilus starts up):

    Initializing nautilus-share extension
    seahorse nautilus module initialized
  10. Re: HOW-TO restoring XP and Vista Bootloader & Restoring GRUB

You may just want to mention that if you are dual booting like I am with Vista installed over XP and Ubuntu installed over Vista, that restoring the Vista boot loader will also bring you back to...
  11. HOWTO: Make your fonts look as good as they do in Windows (version 2.0)

(I'm not sure if this is the "proper" way of doing it...it just works) I'm on an LCD laptop @ 1280 x 800 and the default rendering was annoying the hell out of me.

    1) In the terminal type:

  12. Re: HOWTO: Make your fonts smooth enough to drool over.

It's better but still doesn't look quite right (rocking the ms xp and vista fonts). If you look at the Brainstorm section I believe the font fix one has +1600.
  13. Re: Picking the Kernel thats Right for You (Possible Speed Increase)

Well even if you were to run the commands given it just says "Not Found" (basically).

At least this is +1 Ubuntu not needing "extra work" to be optimized.
  14. Re: How many bugs get plugged with each release?

I should ask an additional question: are releases more feature-orientated whereas updates are more bug-fix orientated?
  15. How many bugs get plugged with each release?

I'm curious to know how many bugs that have been reported over at launchpad actually get fixed. I'm talking about medium/high level ones....not just critical "oh my god my computer caught fire...
