    Hello System76!

When can we expect a 17-inch model to appear in the laptop selection once more?

You guys sure seem to sell out of stuff quick. Make more! ;)

    [ubuntu] Re: Unity player 3d?

I am a bit uncertain what/how you're trying to install...could you post a link to the install guide you're following? Or perhaps a link to the homepage of the software in question?

[all variants] Re: Case for the Starling?

It looks similar to that one, but it's on a bit more of an angle/extension as opposed to being directly underneath the netbook.

[all variants] Re: Case for the Starling?

    Finally remembered!

The battery protrudes approximately an inch out the back, and it hangs down about half an inch lower than the rest of the netbook.

It is not the most terrifyingly sturdy...

    [other] Ion Nettop + BluRay?

I was just looking at the specs on the Ion NetTop, and thinking it would make a pretty cool Home Theater PC is it had a Blu-ray slot drive in it. Are there any plans in the future to offer the Ion...

    [SOLVED] Re: Starling. Review Please

I own a Starling, and I have thus far been very pleased with it. I purchased mine with the SSD option and the 6-cell battery.

My only complaint is something which seems to hold true through all...

    [ubuntu] Re: System76 and 11.04

I have an issue where I'll walk away for a while, the screensaver will engage, and I then come back to a laptop in a hard lockup.

I have a hunch that whatever graphics driver Natty has tried to...

[all variants] Re: Case for the Starling?

Do you have the extended battery which sticks out the back, Stephen? Not sure if the Starling would still fit in that tiny case with the extra inch or two jutting out the back.

    [ubuntu] System76 and 11.04

    Hello!

I upgraded both my Gazelle and Starling to 11.04 (64-bit) the other day - is there any way I can be involved in beta testing the 11.04 system76-driver?

    The Starling seems to work...

  14. [other] Will we see a custom s76 design in the future?

    Hello!

First off, I must say that I am an owner of a Gazelle with the large Chromed Ubuntu logo stamped on it's lid, and I am quite pleased with it.

Second, though, I have a question. Will...

    Re: Ubuntu Club

    Interesting idea.

I think that one level of membership would be more simplistic and ubuntu like, and it should probably include simple benefits like the DVD versions mentioned above.

Thats very cool, I had no idea something like that exited.

I dont know of anything out there like this. Apart from a graphical interface for CUPS, anyway.
  21. Re: [IDEA] Integrate smolt (track working hardware, get user metrics)

I think that this could be a very beneficial idea, as long as you include a way to turn it off for the privacy-concerned.

This bounding box concept sounds cool. I still think the other idea is too hackish.

    Re: Some Basic Improvements

I know that some important system files are already backed up. Quite frequently they get backed up when something needs to access them post-install and make a change.
  24. Re: Use aliases to stop people pasting malicious commands

I think that I will contact my fellow LoCo members about this, and see if anybody wants to write up an FAQ or a seminar or something on it.
